2016 Rural Opportunity Investment Conference
The White House Rural Council & Delta Regional Authority host:
Spurring Economic Development through Investment in the Delta
Monday, January 11 - Tuesday, January 12
The Peabody Hotel | Memphis, Tennessee
In July 2014, the White House Rural Council hosted its inaugural Rural Opportunity Investment (ROI) Conference to discuss the importance of expanding the amount of capital available in rural America. A second ROI conference, held in July 2015, focused on attracting additional equity investments to rural America by highlighting successful projects and new investment opportunities. The ROI Conferences connected rural business leaders and government officials with more than 600 major investors to make a strong business case for investing in rural America.
The Delta Regional Authority, in partnership with the White House Rural Council and U.S. Department of Agriculture, is hosting a ROI conference in Memphis, Tennessee on January 11-12, 2016. Top leaders from the business community and financial institutions, senior government officials, rural economic development experts and others from across the Delta region and country will gather to discuss potential partnerships between public, private, and non-profit entities that will invest in job creation, small business growth, and the development of important rural infrastructure.
Sessions and panels will cover topic areas including:
- Biofuels and Energy
- Regional Food Systems
- Equity and Impact Investing
- Tourism and Cultural Economies
