NEWS: DRA Chairman Welcomes Sen. Hyde-Smith as First Woman to Represent Mississippi in Washington

CLARKSDALE, MS. – Delta Regional Authority Chairman Chris Caldwell today welcomed Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) as she took office to become the first woman to represent the state of Mississippi in Washington, D.C.

“Senator Hyde-Smith is a well-qualified leader who is passionate about the issues that are important to Mississippi and the Delta region as a whole,” said DRA Chairman Chris Caldwell. “She has a proven history of supporting agriculture and other business initiatives that enhance economic growth in our region, and we look forward to working with her along with the entire Mississippi Congressional Delegation to make the Delta region more competitive.”
