Thanksgiving Message 2015

November 25, 2015

The Delta Regional Authority is thankful for our outstanding and devoted partners across the region. Our local development districts, economic developers, elected officials, non-profit organizations, and small businesses are dedicated to building and creating a better place for the people of the Delta region. We are thankful to be a part of their work and to be able to serve the Delta region.

This week we will also be celebrating Small Business Saturday. Many of our partnerships in the region are focused on creating jobs and supporting small businesses. People opening small businesses are our neighbors, our friends, and the foundation for economic growth in our communities. The entrepreneurs and small business owners choosing to open shop in our communities are invested in the success of our cities and towns. Many of the dollars spent at these local businesses stay in their communities. Additionally, small businesses are job creators for Delta communities, creating nearly two million of the roughly three million private-sector jobs generated in 2014.

As patrons this holiday season, one of the easiest ways we can say ‘thank you’ to these businesses is to simply frequent their stores, buy their products, and use their services. All of us at the DRA will be ‘shopping small’ this weekend, and we encourage you to do so as well.

Please share with us how you’re shopping and showcasing your town’s local, small businesses by taking a picture and tweeting us @DeltaRegional with the hashtags #SmallBizSat and #deltaentrepeneur or find us on Facebook at /Delta.Regional.Authority.

We hope that all of our partners throughout the region have a happy Thanksgiving.
