The Delta Regional Authority Releases Updated Version of Today’s Delta

May 12, 2017

As National Economic Development Week comes to a close, the Delta Regional Authority is releasing an updated version of Today’s Delta, an essential tool to help our region compete  for jobs, investments, and economic opportunities. Today’s Delta provides detailed data that helps community leaders, elected officials and economic developers make strategic decisions, compete for resources that enhance community capacity, and improve workforce competitiveness.

DRA has developed Today’s Delta as a one-stop-shop tool that offers important insight into the economic, educational, and health status of the region. This no-cost, comprehensive demographic information provides a full assessment of the challenges and opportunities each Delta community faces. Local, regional and state officials can use this report to enhance and better inform strategic economic development plans, pursue funding and recruit and retain businesses with detailed, factual information.

DRA is presenting the current reality of the Delta region on county, state, regional and national levels. The print version of Today’s Delta is just a snapshot of our region. DRA’s online version is a searchable database that will be continually updated with current statistics and demographics on Delta communities.

This information will strengthen planning, funding and implementation of economic development projects that will add to the growth of our region, build our communities, and help retain and create jobs for our residents.

As a complement to Today’s Delta, you can now find detailed project information on our website. DRA is providing an interactive, searchable mapping tool that showcases all DRA projects awarded between 2002-2016 and provides information on project type, location, and investment levels. The mapping tool is another step for our agency to be fully transparent about our investment of federal dollars and their return on investment for the Delta region.

Today’s Delta and our mapping tool give community leaders and economic developers the comprehensive information they need to grow local economies and make Delta communities great places to live and work.
