Brian Kelsey serves as state Senator for Cordova, East Memphis, and his hometown of Germantown, Tennessee. He chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee and is the only legislator in Tennessee history to sponsor two successful amendments to the state constitution.
He is currently serving in his 9th year as a state Senator. Prior to his service in the Senate, he served 5 years as a state representative, where he was Minority Floor Leader and chaired the Judiciary Civil Practice Subcommittee.
Senator Kelsey is a general practice attorney with an emphasis on civil litigation defense. He maintains his law practice on the Collierville town square in a building where his great-grandfather once ran a shoe store. He is a 7th generation West Tennessean.
Sen. Kelsey is married to Amanda Bunning Kelsey of Kentucky.
He was appointed Alternate Designee to the DRA by Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam.
