A Message from the Federal Co-Chairman

It is hard to believe it is already July, but here we are nearing the dog days of summer once again.  As we prepare to celebrate our nation’s independence and birth amidst all that has happened this year, it is important to remember all of our blessings.  We live in the greatest and freest country ever to exist, and for that we should all be grateful.

Applications for SEDAP closed this week, and the DRA staff and I have begun the application review process.  This is one of my favorite times of year at the DRA.  It is challenging, but none the less rewarding to see projects materialize across the Delta region.  Developing new opportunities for job creation and expansion, new roads, and new utilities, all surrounded by the grit and determination of our communities, is what makes us the great nation we are.

To our teachers, volunteers, pastors, police officers, firefighters, nurses, and so many others in our cities and towns that get up every day focused on helping others and making our home and country the greatest it can be:  thank you.  You are the givers, not the takers.  So please enjoy this holiday and all the freedoms we celebrate this day and every day.  Let’s also be thankful and be a giver.

Sincerely,

Chris Caldwell
DRA Federal Co-Chairman
