Darci Malam is the Project Management Specialist for the Delta Regional Authority (DRA). Darci joined DRA in May 2021 focusing on the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP). Her duties include evaluating new grant applications as well as providing technical assistance and project monitoring and compliance. Given that Darci resides in Missouri, she has also been provided with the opportunity to focus on the relationships and project development of the states within the northern portion of the DRA footprint, these include Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Tennessee and portions of Arkansas.
Prior to joining DRA, Darci was the Economic Development Specialist / Revolving Loan Fund Manager for the South Central Ozark Council of Governments (SCOCOG) for almost 6 ½ years. Her duties included the management of the small business and household water well loan programs. In addition, Darci worked closely with SCOCOG’s member communities to develop new grant applications and administer various economic development projects throughout SCOCOG’s seven county region. Darci’s past experience also included banking having worked for a private bank and Farm Service Agency, conference coordinating/planning, marketing, agricultural analysis/field inspections, clerical work and she also co-owned/operated a small-scale sawmill and logging business with her spouse.
Darci received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from the College of the Ozarks and a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics/Business from the University of Arkansas. She was a member of the Delta Tau Alpha honor society (CofO), Gamma Sigma Delta honor society (UofA) and was selected to attend the Agriculture Future of America Leaders Conference (UofA).
Darci is a native of Douglas County, Missouri. She currently resides with her husband, Tim, and three children, Brennan, Braxton, and Tinli in Texas County, Missouri on their small beef cattle farm.
