2025 Delta Workforce Grant Program

Pre-Award Technical Assistance Worksop Scheduled for Oct. 24

Clarksdale, Miss. – The Delta Regional Authority will be hosting a Pre-Award Technical Assistance Workshop for individuals interested in learning about the 2025 Delta Workforce Grant Program (DWP) funding opportunity. The workshop will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Marriot Memphis East, in Memphis, Tennessee.

On Sept. 20, DRA released a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) for grants under the 2025 DWP. DRA is making available $4 million for DWP project grants, with awards ranging between $50,000-$300,000.

The objectives of the DWP Pre-Award Technical Assistance Workshop include:

  • Providing attendees with a comprehensive overview of the FOA to help develop competitive applications;

  • Providing an example of a successful workforce training program from a DWP grantee, who will discuss strategies for building innovative partnerships to attain positive workforce outcomes in rural areas; and

  • Providing information on how to build an effective workforce development program, how to create a strong workforce pipeline to attract existing and prospective businesses, and how to articulate that vision into a competitive grant proposal.

For individuals who would like to attend but may need assistance, DRA will cover a one-night stay, plus parking, at the Marriott Memphis East. The registration and hotel booking link will be provided at a later date. For more information about this special assistance, email workforce@dra.gov. Breakfast and lunch will also be provided during the workshop.

DWP supports projects and initiatives that create a more vibrant economic future for the Delta and Alabama Black Belt regions by expanding opportunities to recruit, train, and retain a diverse and local workforce; aligning workforce and economic development strategies; creating sustainable talent pipelines; establishing or enhancing locally and regionally significant sector-based partnerships; and supporting enhanced workforce productivity through investments in innovative programming or services.
