REGISTRATION & HOTEL LINK: Delta Workforce Grant Program Pre-Award Technical Assistance Workshop in Memphis, TN on February 17, 2023

DRA is offering a pre-award technical assistance workshop to those interested in learning more about the 2023 DWP funding opportunity, and the details are as follows:

• Friday, February 17, 2023 (travel day and hotel check-in Thursday, 2/16)

  • 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (breakfast & lunch included)

This is an official release of the event registration and hotel booking information. DRA will cover the cost of a hotel room for a one night stay and parking at the Doubletree (if needed), for up to two people from the same organization. Please click the links below to 1) REGISTER for the TA workshop, and 2) RESERVE your hotel room at the Doubletree Memphis Downtown:

1. Hotel Booking Link – Deadline to book rooms is February 8th at 11:59pm Central.

   – To secure your room, you will need to provide a credit card for incidentals only. However, if your plans change and you do not cancel your room, your card will be charged for one night.

   – The booking link automatically selects both Wednesday and Thursday nights. Please deselect Wed. night, since Thursday night only is covered for the DWP training on Friday (Click “edit stay” at the top, select Feb. 16th as the arrival date, click “update”).

2. Registration link – Deadline to register is Friday, February 10th.
   -Please register one attendee at a time, (max: 2 people per organization)

Delta Regional Authority (DRA) released an RFP on December 15th to solicit applications for grants under the 2023 Delta Workforce Grant Program (DWP). DWP supports projects and initiatives that create a more vibrant economic future for the Delta and Alabama Black Belt regions by expanding opportunities to recruit, train, and retain a diverse and local workforce, aligning workforce and economic development strategies, creating sustainable talent pipelines, establishing or enhancing locally/regionally significant sector-based partnerships, and supporting enhanced workforce productivity through investments in innovative programming or services. On December 15, 2022, DRA released a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit applications for grants under the 2023 Delta Workforce Grant Program (DWP). DRA is making available $6,000,000 for DWP project grants, with awards ranging between $50,000-$450,000. The deadline for submitting a proposal is Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 5:00 PM CT.

The purpose of the DWP Pre-Award Technical Assistance Workshop is to provide attendees:

• A comprehensive overview of the RFP to help develop competitive applications;

• An example of a successful workforce training program from a DWP grantee who will discuss strategies for building innovative partnerships to attain positive workforce outcomes in rural areas;

• Information on how to build an effective workforce development program, create a strong workforce pipeline attractive for existing and prospective businesses, and how to articulate that vision into a competitive grant proposal.
