Clarksdale, Miss. – The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) is pleased to announce Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves as its 2026 States’ Co-Chair. Elected by the DRA Board of Governors, Reeves will work collaboratively with agency leadership to promote economic growth and development throughout the 255 counties and parishes in the DRA’s eight-state service region.
“I want to thank the Delta Regional Authority Board of Governors for entrusting me to serve as 2026 States’ Co-Chair,” said Governor Tate Reeves. “From record-breaking private sector investment to nation-leading educational gains, Mississippi is experiencing unprecedented momentum. I’m excited to work with our federal and state partners to bring that same momentum to the eight states DRA serves.”
As the 65th Governor of Mississippi, Reeves has built a strong record of leadership focused on expanding educational opportunity, strengthening workforce, and creating pathways for Mississippi’s families to prosper. Since taking office in 2020, Reeves has led Mississippi to achieve historic educational gains, a thriving economy, as well as record-breaking private sector investments totaling $85 billion. He also finalized the six largest economic development projects in state history.
“The Delta Regional Authority congratulates Gov. Reeves on being elected as our next States’ Co-Chair,” said Laura Veazey, Executive Director. “The DRA looks forward to working with the Mississippi Governor on advancing economic growth across the Delta region.”
Reeves assumed his duties as the 2026 DRA States’ Co-Chair on May 22, 2026. He follows Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, who served in this capacity since 2024.
