Delta Regional Authority Announces New Chief Administrative Officer

Clarksdale, MS – The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) has announced Joshua McNemar as its new Chief Administrative Officer, effective April 8, 2024. McNemar brings more than seven years of experience in administrative operations and governmental affairs to DRA, after having served in various leadership roles in the public sector.

A native of Vidalia, La., McNemar previously worked as the Chief of Staff and Operations for the Louisiana Housing Corporation, which provides safe, affordable and energy-efficient housing for its residents through federal- and state-funded programming. In this role, McNemar was responsible for developing and implementing operational plans for the agency; overseeing daily departmental and facility operations; and collaborating with executive leadership to meet organizational priorities, among other duties. Prior to that, McNemar also served as the Assistant to the Secretary for Policy and Governmental Affairs for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and as the Senior Advisor for the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Louisiana.

“On behalf of the Delta Regional Authority, we are pleased to welcome Joshua to the agency and to our growing team,” said Dr. Corey Wiggins, DRA Federal Co-Chairman. “I am confident that with Joshua’s experience in governmental affairs, coupled with administrative operations, he will bring a set of skills and expertise that will be an asset to the DRA mission. We are thrilled to have him on board and look forward to his leadership.”

As Chief Administrative Officer, McNemar will work directly with the Federal Co-Chair to provide strategic direction and oversight of DRA’s administrative and daily operational activities and procedures in support of the agency’s strategic goals and business plans.

“I am truly honored by the opportunity to join the Delta Regional Authority,” said McNemar. “My rural Louisiana upbringing instilled in me an appreciation for the importance of economic development in rural communities. This opportunity will allow me to contribute my experiences, alongside a dedicated team, to empower and cultivate thriving communities, making a difference in rural America. I appreciate this opportunity and look forward to advancing the mission of creating jobs, building communities and improving lives throughout the DRA region.”
