Delta Regional Authority Announces States’s Economic Development Assistance Program

CLARKSDALE, MS – The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) has announced funding availability for the States’ Economic Development Assistance Program (SEDAP) that will support economic and community development needs within DRA’s region. Approximately $16.8 million is available to address basic public and transportation infrastructure, as well as workforce and business development needs for communities within DRA’s eight-state service area. Funding for this program has been made available, in part, by the 2018 Farm Bill and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, PL 117-58) signed by President Biden.

“The State’s Economic Development Assistance Program is one of DRA’s most diverse tools to help strengthen economic development and address the underlying challenges that impact our region, including in some of the most persistently impoverished areas of the United States. These investments will help address these challenges and build safer, connected, and more resilient communities across DRA’s footprint, said Federal Co-Chairman, Dr. Corey Wiggins.”
