Delta Regional Authority Announces Two New Capacity-Building Programs

CLARKSDALE, MS – The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) has announced funding availability for two new capacity-building programs that will support eligible entities in meeting strategic planning needs and increase capacity in local development districts. Approximately $3 million is available through the Local Development District (LDD) Community Support Pilot Program. This program targets capacity-building resources to the 45 LDDs in DRA’s service area. Approximately $3 million is available through the Strategic Planning Program. This program provides resources to eligible entities to develop strategic plans to address critical and human infrastructure issues in their communities. Funding for these programs has been made available through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, PL 117-58) signed by President Biden.

“DRA’s capacity-building programs were developed based on conversations with community leaders and stakeholders across the region. As identified in DRA’s Regional Development Plan IV, capacity-building remains a foundational component in spurring economic growth and opportunity across the eight-state region,” said Federal Co-Chairman, Dr. Corey Wiggins.
