The Delta Regional Authority (DRA) published its Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) to solicit applications for grants under the 2023 State’s Economic Assistance Program (SEDAP). This funding availability will support economic and community development needs within DRA’s region. Approximately $16.8 million is available to address basic public and transportation infrastructure, as well as workforce and business development needs for communities within DRA’s eight-state service area.
Under federal law, at least 75 percent of DRA funds must be invested in economically distressed counties and parishes and isolated areas of distress in the region. At least 50 percent shall be allocated to transportation and basic public infrastructure improvements. The remaining funds are directed to DRA’s other funding priorities of workforce development and business development with a focus on entrepreneurship.
The purpose of the SEDAP NOFA is to provide an overview of the program and the specific requirements needed to complete an application. For more information on SEDAP and how to apply: States’ Economic Development Assistance Program – Delta Regional Authority (dra.gov).
Funding for this program has been made available, in part, by the 2018 Farm Bill and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, PL 117-58) signed by President Biden.
Application Deadline: June 25, 2023
