Delta Region Community Health Systems Development

A partnership program with Health Resources and Services Administration’s Federal Office of Rural Health Policy.

The Delta Region Community Health Systems Development (DRCHSD) enhances health care delivery by providing technical assistance to critical access hospitals, small rural hospitals, rural health clinics and other health care organizations.

From 2017 to 2023, the program supported 54 organizations — 25 Critical Access Hospitals, 19 Prospective Payment System hospitals, six Rural Health Clinics, three Federally Qualified Health Centers and one Rural Emergency Hospital — in 40 DRA communities across all eight Delta states. A total of 83,000 county jobs were supported due to hospital and clinic employee spending (2017-2023), which represents about 17% of all local jobs in these communities.
